Common questions
Where do you serve?
We serve the greater Charleston area. Add your ZIP code when you join the waitlist so we can plan visits in your neighborhood.
Do I need to be home?
No. Most members aren't. You can give us a lockbox or smart lock code, or leave a key, and we'll text you when we arrive and when we leave. The photo report shows you everything we did. If you'd rather be there, we'll book a window that works for you.
Who will be coming into my home?
At launch, it's the owner of Arc Home Services, doing every visit personally.
Are you insured?
Yes. Every visit is covered by general liability insurance. If you'd like a copy of the certificate, just ask.
What happens if you find a problem?
We photograph it and explain in your report what it is, how urgent it is and what it would take to fix. Small repairs we can often handle ourselves. For anything else, we have trusted references we can point you to. Nothing gets done without your OK.
Can I cancel my membership?
Yes. Monthly memberships can be cancelled anytime with no fee, and billing stops at the end of the month.
Does joining the waitlist cost anything?
No. We don't take payment until we're ready to book your first visit, and you can decide then.
Are filters and batteries really included?
Yes. HVAC filters, refrigerator water filters, and the batteries for your detectors, smart locks and thermostat are part of the plan. There's no parts bill for any of it.
What isn't included?
Work that needs a licensed trade, such as HVAC repair, plumbing, electrical or pest control. If we spot something during a visit, we'll tell you and point you to someone qualified.
How long does a visit take?
Most visits take about an hour. We'll schedule a window that works for you, and the same tech comes each time where possible.
I own a rental. Does this work for me?
Yes. The photo report after each visit gives you a record of the property's condition without having to be there.
